Membership: Why join NCNW?
Membership in NCNW is vitally important. What happens on Capitol Hill has direct bearing on the quality of life issues, core to the survival and well-being in our communities nationally. Our voices must be heard loudly and in rapid response in this age of high speed technology and communication. Each membership will help NCNW to:
strengthen family life;
encourage self-sufficiency;
build better communities for our children;
celebrate and strengthen the African American Family;
reach out to women in need nationally and internationally;
develop and sponsor educational project to meet community need;
work toward economic empowerment of all African American women;
achieve equality of opportunity and eliminate prejudice and discrimination based upon race, creed, color, sex, or national origin;
develop and maintain archives of, and disseminate information about, the talents and contributions of women in national and world affairs; and
develop and participate in area, municipal, regional, and national conferences for the mutual exchange of ideas and experiences.
Through the years, there has been growing appreciation and recognition of the value of al unified voice in the corridors of power. Since its founding, NCNW has continued to develop programs designed to ameliorate the pressing problems which affect the lives of women, the African American community, and disadvantaged persons of all origins.
